Hot Blooded (Jessica McClain, #2) by Amanda Carlson

It hasn't been the best week for Jessica McClain.
Her mate has been kidnapped by a Goddess hell-bent on revenge --- but Jessica is playing for keeps.
Because she's the only female werewolf in town...it comes with its own set of rules...and powers. Aided by two vamps, two loyal Pack members, and one very reluctant human, Jessica must rescue her man while coming to terms with what being a wolf really means.
All in a day's work for a girl.
The second novel in the Jessica McClain series is a full on action adventure featuring one angry Goddess and plenty of monsters, demons, and a few newly risen beasties...

5/5 stars

This book was non-stop action from beginning to end. It picked up right after the first book, Full Blooded. We had Jessica, Tyler, Danny and Ray but we also added two new characters, the sibling vampire duo of Eamon and Naomi. This group of may not be on the best of terms, but they do learn to work together to rescue Rourke and make it back alive.

I really liked the new beasties we were introduced to in this book and look forward to what we'll see in the next book. The group was always on their toes to see what was coming at them next. And the final showdown was pretty intense. I kept looking for clues to see how they planned on taking Selene down.

This group definitely needs a vacation, but I see next up is the Vampire Queen's party so that's not going to happen anytime soon. Maybe in the next book Jessica and Rourke can have at least a day or two when they can actually relax.

Can't wait for the next book. Would also love to see a spin-off series cause these guys (James, Danny, Tyler and even Callum) need a little lovin' too.
