Deliver Me From Temptation (Paladin Warriors #2) by Tes Hilaire

Logan Calhoun is the last full-blooded Paladin, the future leader of a race of immortal warrior angels. The heavy responsibility of continuing the Paladin line falls to him, and the last thing he should do is get involved with a human. Then fate throws Jessica Waters, a homicide detective who doesn't believe in fate or divine intervention, into his path. Her devotion lies in her Glock and a good set of handcuffs. Like Logan, she's a warrior for her people, and she awakens within him something he'd never thought he'd feel. But she's also as human as they come...

5/5 stars

This is the second book in a series about a group of Paladin Warriors, a group of angels who volunteered to police the vampires and demons who live in our world. Logan is the last full-blooded Paladin and is expected to be the next leader of the Warriors, following in the footsteps of his very strict father. A father who doesn't approve of much including his own daughter who is now a half-vampire and bonded to Logan's best friend. Logan meets Jessica, a detective working on a case that involves several rapes and a murder, and the sparks of attraction soon start a full blown fire between the two. And what a fire it was!

I love this series. I really liked the first book, but this one was so much better. There was action and romance and everything I like about this genre. There was also a good set-up for at least two more books. Hopefully this is just the beginning of a series that, in my opinion, can only get better.
