I have the worst habit of reading a book only to then realise that it's a part of a series which is exactly what I did with this one. This is the fourth book in the Bloodrunner series and while there are some plot points from earlier books I in no way felt like I was lost. I really liked this book, enough in fact that I went back and downloaded the first three books and am looking forward to learning a little more of this world and what happened to make Eric feel the way he does toward his father and way the town feels divided about him and his sister. Thankfully Chelsea came along and brought a little happiness into his life, because he really needed the love of a strong woman. Looking forward to reading more of this series and author.
